Stories and Baking
I have always loved animals and I have always loved baking cookies. Add 20 acres in the southern part of California with a pond and you have plenty of stories to tell and people who like cookies. My first two children's books are true stories one centering on the rescue of a Clydesdale colt called, "Clyde's Forever Home" and the second is the dog that was found on the same property and was rescued and that is called, "Cue's Forever Home". More books are coming, including a mystery about a couple of unpaid detectives who help women just find out the truth about their husbands and deal with it in a manner that will be good for family. There is also another children's book already complete awaiting the copyright and publishing.
Our story
Clyde's Forever Home & Cue's Forever Home are both children's books which children from 2nd -5th grade may feel comfortable reading and earlier ages can understand the book as read to them. Pictured to the right is Lady Jean driving a cart pulled by Clyde. Although both books are designed for children we have witnessed more than a few adults wiping away tears as they read them. Clyde and Cue have greeted a host of visitors at their home in Newberry Springs. Pictured below Lady Jean and Author, Diane, open the first copy of Cue's Forever Home.
Clyde's forever home is a true story written In the first "horseon". A local couple rescued a Clydesdale colt with the help of wonderful veterinarian friend. Two Weeks after Clyde was rescued, a dog was discovered on the property. That dog is mentioned in Clyde's book, but due to the struggles she faced before and after her rescue, another book had to be written to tell her story. A good friend of Lady Jean, the rescuer, Jill Cook, actually illustrated both "Clyde's forever home" and "Cue's forever home".
